Hussain Bakhsh Gullu, a classical singer, is no more.
LAHORE: On December 5, 202, at the age of 75, renowned classical music maestro Ustad Hussain Baksh Gullu passed away.

Chand Khan and Suraj Khan, the singer's two kids, are the singer's surviving siblings.
He was the son of Ustad Nathu Ali Khan, a classical music member of Sham Chaurasi Gharana and Patiala.
Shafqat Amanat is Ustad Salamat Ali Khan's nephew, and Gullu was his brother-in-law. He spent his entire life fighting to advance classical music, and for the past several years, he has also been an instructor at the Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts.
Amir Mir, the Punjab Minister of Information and Culture, has sent his condolences on the passing of the well-known classical vocalist.
He paid tribute to Gullu, stating that his contributions to the world of classical music will live on forever. The minister added in his message that Allah Almighty may give Hussain Baksh a special position in heaven and assist the bereaved family in enduring this irreversible loss with courage.
The Lahore Arts Council (LAC), where Gullu not only taught for years but also gave numerous performances, will host a consolation event in his honor, with participation from a number of well-known classical vocalists and members of the music profession.
Tariq Mehmood Chaudhry, Executive Director of LAC, has expressed profound sadness and grief over the untimely passing of Ustad Hussian Baksh Gullu. He has praised the man as a magnificent singer whose brilliance has lit the country.
He added that many aspiring musicians found a beacon in Ustad Gullu's longstanding partnership with Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts, which enriched their musical experiences. Alhamra is unwavering in its dedication to preserving and expanding the remarkable musical heritage that Ustad Hussain Bakhsh left behind.
The head of Alhamra sent his condolences to the late Ustad's family and prayed that he might find eternal peace in Jannah.
The Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts class that Ustad once taught will bear his name as a suitable homage to his priceless contribution to the world of music, according to the executive director.
