SIEHS Starts Riverine Boat Ambulance for Sindh
SIEHS presented Sindh's first "Riverine Boat Ambulance" in PIMEC 2025. The initiative goals to give emergency healthcare to flood-affected & remote coastal areas.
SIEHS, under the Health Department of Sindh, presents Sindh's first Riverine Boat Ambulance in Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference. Four days of Exhibition were held from November 3 to 6 in Karachi Expo Center, Experts, Government officials, and Maritime Professionals from around the world part of this exhibition.
Why Boat Ambulance:
Boat Ambulance provides emergency healthcare services to areas that are cut off from land routes, especially flood areas, coastal settlements, and islands. Intended for use in shallow waters, marshy also floods affected places, this boat ambulance can reach places where traditional ambulances cannot.
Attributes:
State of the art medical equipment, life jackets and first aid facilities, wireless communication systems, sonar devices, long range searchlights, boat ambulance is capable of stabilizing patients and providing initial medical care. Now, four boats have been deployed on a trial basis, with plans to expand the fleet to 26 boats in future.
SIEHS' Promise:
SIEHS spokesperson stated, Riverine Boat Ambulance service will play a key role during floods and natural disasters, providing lifesaving medical aid to areas that are inaccessible till now. In the event, Brigadier (R) Tariq Qadir Lakhiar, CEO of SIEHS, highlighted, “This Riverine Ambulance project is a symbol of our promise to safeguard no community is left behind during an emergency. Our goal is to deliver lifesaving services to every citizen of Sindh.”
PIMEC-2025:
Organized and associated with Pakistan Navy, Badar Expo Solutions and supported by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, was Pakistan’s premier maritime event. 100 plus countries participate in exhibition, where marine, defense & blue economy experts will evaluate Pakistan's maritime and coastal abilities.

SIEHS presents Riverine Boat Ambulance has significant attention from both local & international delegates in PIMEC2025, the growing need for groundbreaking models of healthcare access in flood affected, remote and coastal regions of Pakistan. This initiative is an important step to enhancing emergency healthcare services in Sindh.
