Motiwala criticized the nonappearance of export inducements and relief for energy-intensive industries like textiles. He stressed that high gas prices & interest rates make Pakistani products collegial globally. Without structural reforms and a business-friendly environment, industrial growth and employment generation remain unlikely, he said.
KCCI President Javed Balwani also condemned the budget for failing reduce power tariffs and interest rates, which are driving up production costs and inflation. He noted despite inflation claims by the government of Pakistan, citizens continue to face agonizing electricity bills and high living expenses.
The KCCI leadership urged the government to prioritize infrastructure investment and expansion the tax base rather than imposing more financial pressure on Karachi, the country's economic hub. Without real reforms, they cautioned, Pakistan’s economic indicators will not improve sustainably.
