Nicki Minaj, SZA, J. Cole, and Drake will compete at the BET Awards; they have received many nominations.

At the June 30 presentation, the rappers will compete in two categories: best collaboration and best male hip-hop artist. Lamar is nominated for his guest verse on Beyoncé's remix of "America Has a Problem," while Drake is nominated for "Rich Baby Daddy," which he wrote alongside SZA and Sexy Red.

Drake's album For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition) has earned him seven nominations, making him the show's top candidate. This year, Lamar did not release an album that qualified. The Canadian rapper is also nominated for viewer's choice for "Rich Baby Daddy," best male R&B/pop artist, and album of the year. Two of his songs, "Rich Baby Daddy" and his guest verse on J. Cole's "First Person Shooter," which came out in late 2023 and rekindled his dispute with Kendrick Lamar, are among his two nominations for video of the year.

Nicki Minaj trails Drake with six nominations, which include Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Album of the Year for Pink Friday 2, and Video of the Year for "Barbie World" featuring Ice Spice and Aqua.

Drake and Minaj will compete against the following videos for video of the year: Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's “Bongos,” Victoria Monét’s “On My Mama,” Usher, Summer Walker, and 21 Savage’s “Good Good,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills,” and Lil Durk and J. Cole’s “All My Life.”

In addition to Drake and Minaj's efforts, the following albums are up for album of the year: Jaguar II by Monét, 11:11 by Chris Brown, Coming Home by Usher, Michael by Killer Mike, American Dream by 21 Savage, and A Gift & A Curse by Gunna.

Each of SZA, J. Cole, Monét, and Sexyy Red received five nominations. Beyoncé, Usher, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, 21 Savage, and Tyla are the acts who received four nominations.

Blue Ivy Carter, the 12-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, is a Grammy, NAACP Image Award, and Soul Train Music Award winner. She is a nominee for the YoungStars Award, which recognizes and rewards young performers. Akira Akbar, Demi Singleton, Diana Harris, Heiress Jabria Mccullum, Jalyn Hall, Leah Jeffries, and Van Van are the other nominees.

Among the performers at the event are Monét, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Latto, GloRilla, and Shaboozey. It will be broadcast live on BET from Los Angeles.
